Child & Family Therapist
Chantal is a caring and dedicated counsellor, and loves working with young people. She has experience working with children, youth, adults, and families who are experiencing challenges with anxiety, depression, self-regulation, parenting, trauma and behavioural issues. She has worked within schools, youth justice, residential and crisis setting before joining the team at Acorn Counselling.
Chantal earned a Master’s degree from Ryerson University. She is a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
Chantal works from a client cent red approach and aims to provide a space for individuals to be heard and supported. Chantal uses a variety of modalities such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), solution focused, mindfulness practices and trauma informed approaches tailored to individual’s needs. Chantal also enjoys incorporating play and other creative aspects into working with children, youth, and families. She continues to build on her professional development to provide clients with the best evidence-based interventions possible, as she believes that learning never stops.
Chantal lives in Hamilton and enjoys admiring the beautiful waterfalls within the community. She has a love for music, travelling and indulging in a variety of foods.
